Fallkniven Knives (pronounced Fell-elk-knee-ven) is a Swedish knife making company founded in 1984 with the purpose of making the highest possible quality production knives for military and outdoor enthusiast use. Since its founding, Fallkniven Knives has made good on this intent by supplying knives not only to the Swedish military, but in 2000 the United States also selected the Fallkniven S1 for use by Marine and Navy air crews.
Outdoor enthusiasts have also recognized the quality of Fallkniven Knives, which has made these knives highly sought after for hunting, camping and general outdoor adventure. The reason for this quality is tight control over the manufacturing process, the use of the very best materials and testing of the products before they hit the shelves. |

The testing of the knives is done at Lulela University of Technology. Here the knives are put through their paces to test the strength, edge retention, corrosion resistance and general all around mettle of their manufacture. Only those candidates who successfully pass the rigorous testing process may bear the Fallkniven name. As a result of this testing, Fallkniven Knives claim to produce "the strongest serial manufactured stainless steel knives in the world". |
| Fallkniven Knives is one of the few knife manufacturers to make use of the powder steel process now available. Powder steel is made by actually powdering the various alloys to be used in the steel and therefore permits a more precise usage of the different alloy percentages, as well as providing for a completely uniform dispersion of these alloys within the grain of the finished product. Although expensive, this steel is superior to ordinary steels and is the reason why Fallkniven makes use of it in some of their knives. |

Fallkniven Knives also makes good use of the excellent VG-10 steel and applies it in a laminate process. Layering the steel of a knife blade allows a very hard and high Rockwell hardness edge to be exposed for cutting, while softer steel wraps it to provide durability and prevent brittleness or snapping.
Most of the Fallkniven Knives are fixed blade models; however there are a number of folders as well. The popularity of Fallkniven Knives continues to grow as people discover the superior quality of these knives the desire for them increases each year. |
